In September of 2017 I visited the Driftless Area of Wisconsin. With the array of colors, open light, and diversity of plant life I felt like I was being transported to an alternate world. I spent seven days with my husband, Chris and our dog, Addie visiting the roadside streams and pastures. As Chris explored the streams fly-fishing I painted the scenes. The result of our journey is several studies, photographs, and inspiration for a new series. My intention is to use this information as a backdrop for future narrative paintings.
